Practical Insights

Working with this variety, the main takeaway is its adaptive capacity. It forms a dense vegetative cover quickly, effectively suppressing weed growth and enriching the soil with nitrogen. During harvest, "Belotserkovskaya 88" stands out for its uniform maturity, which significantly reduces harvest losses—a major benefit for any operator using combines.

• Cycle: The 70–90 day vegetation period is ideal for escaping late summer drought conditions.
• Fodder Quality: High protein content makes it an excellent choice for livestock feed, both as green forage and hay.
• Management: Responds well to fertilizer application without requiring overly complex, high-cost protection programs, keeping the production cost per ton efficient.

For an owner, this variety is a "workhorse." It is resilient, resistant to lodging, and easy to manage throughout the season. If you are looking for a balance between high-quality forage production and effective soil nitrogen management, this variety from the Bila Tserkva Research Station delivers consistent results.
