Green Slastena is a mid-season shelling variety of garden pea that forms a crop 65-75 days after germination. This variety belongs to the aphyllic (leafless) plant group, in which part of the leaves have been modified into additional tendrils. Due to the powerful development of tendrils, the foliage is heavily entangled, which significantly increases plant stability against lodging and allows for growing the variety without support. Stems reach a height of 95-105 cm, which ensures good plant structure and ease of harvest collection.
The fruits of the Green Slastena variety are represented by long pods 10-12 cm long, each containing 7 to 9 brain-like seeds. At biological maturity, the seeds are wrinkled, while at the consumer (milky-waxy) maturity phase, the green peas are distinguished by a sweet, tender taste and excellent taste qualities. The high yield of the variety is 0.8 to 1.0 kg per square meter, which makes it attractive for growing in both personal plots and for commercial purposes.
The products of the Green Slastena variety are versatile: green peas are suitable for canning and freezing, which allows preserving their taste and nutritional qualities for a long time. Due to their characteristics and ease of cultivation, this variety is an excellent choice for those who value the quality and reliability of vegetable crops.
