The vegetable pea variety Lambado (Lambada) is an early-maturing Dutch selection from Syngenta Seeds, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic covers. The vegetation period is approximately 60 days from sowing. Plants are medium-height, reaching about 70 cm, allowing them to be grown either on trellises or horizontally without support. The variety is characterized by high productivity with a potential yield of 40 to 70 kg per 100 m², as well as resistance to diseases and stress conditions, including high resistance to Fop 1.
Lambado pea pods have a bright green color and attractive appearance due to their small, round, and wrinkled seeds. The sickle-shaped pods, 7–8 cm long, contain 6–7 seeds each, making them easy to harvest and process. The 1000-seed weight is approximately 120 g, with about 810 seeds per kilogram. Seeds are produced in Switzerland and guarantee compliance with stated characteristics.
Lambado peas have a delicate flavor and pleasant texture that remains even after thermal processing. This makes them a versatile product suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, and canning. Due to their attractive appearance and fine seed size, they look especially appealing in glass packaging, which is an additional advantage for commercial and home use.
