The vegetable pea variety ISTOK is a mid-late shelling variety with a period from full germination to the beginning of technical maturity of about 59-62 days. Plants reach a height of approximately 70 cm, have green leaves and medium-sized white flowers. Pods of this variety are slightly curved, long and narrow, with a pointed top, acquiring a dark green color at technical maturity. The height of attachment of lower pods varies from 28 to 47 cm, which facilitates harvest collection.
ISTOK variety peas are characterized by uniformity in size and high content of dry matter (18-26%) and total sugar (1.9-4.3%), which ensures excellent taste qualities of the fresh product. The yield of green peas from pods is 39-44%, and the mass of 1000 seeds is within 180-200 g. The yield of green peas varies from 26 to 72 centners per hectare, which corresponds to the level of standard varieties.
This variety is intended for consumption in fresh form, as well as is excellently suitable for canning and freezing, which makes it universal in use. To obtain a prolonged harvest period, sowing in several terms is recommended. Pea ISTOK is characterized by a sweet taste and stable productivity, which makes it an attractive choice for vegetable growers.
