FUGA is a medium-early variety of vegetable peas with a maturation period of 55 to 64 days from full emergence to technical ripeness. The plant is bush-type, reaching a height of up to 60 cm. Pods are straight, dark green in color with a pointed tip, up to 9 cm long, containing 9 to 12 seeds. Fruit ripening occurs simultaneously, which facilitates harvest collection. The variety is distinguished by high taste qualities, which are preserved both in fresh form and after freezing and canning. The yield of green peas ranges from 0.4 to 0.6 kg per square meter. FUGA is recommended for cultivation in sunny areas with fertile, loamy and medium clay soils with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. For sowing, seeds are planted at a depth of 3-6 cm depending on the soil type, with an optimal planting scheme of 15x30 or 15x45 cm. Seeds germinate at a temperature of 2 to 5°C, and seedlings can withstand short-term frosts down to -6°C. The plant is moisture-loving and requires good soil aeration and sufficient moisture throughout the entire vegetative period. If necessary, trellises are installed to support the plants. To improve crop quality, it is recommended to apply micro-fertilizers containing boron and molybdenum. The FUGA variety is a good predecessor for most crops, except for members of the legume family. Thanks to its characteristics and versatility of application, this pea variety is ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for freezing and canning, making it a real delicacy on your table.
