Vegetable Pea Favorit

The vegetable pea variety Favorit is a medium-maturing, high-yielding variety with a vegetation period ranging from 56 to 75 days depending on growing conditions. The plant is bushy, reaching a height of 60 to 75 cm, with dense pods up to 10 cm long, each containing 6 to 8 large dark-green peas with a diameter of about 8 mm. The 1000-seed weight is 130-150 grams, indicating the variety's large-fruited nature. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 156 centners per hectare, and resistance to diseases and lodging, making it a reliable choice for gardeners and farmers. The Favorit pea is valued for its excellent taste: the peas have a pleasant sweet flavor and juiciness, as well as high protein, fiber, vitamin, and mineral content. Due to these characteristics, the variety is versatile in use — it can be consumed fresh, frozen, or canned. The plant prefers well-lit areas and light, nutrient-rich soils, and requires regular watering to achieve maximum yield. The variety is resistant to temperature fluctuations and adverse weather conditions, expanding its cultivation possibilities across various climatic zones. Sowing is recommended in April and May, with harvest beginning at the end of June. Thanks to the possibility of two sowings, a generous yield can be obtained, ensuring a winter supply of peas. The Favorit variety is not only high-yielding but also stable in performance under various growing conditions, making it popular among gardeners and professional agronomists.
