DONPLAZA

DONPLAZA is a mid-season chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) variety with a vegetative period ranging from 67 to 90 days, recommended for cultivation in the Rostov Oblast and the North Caucasian region. The plants are tall, reaching heights of 46-63 cm, with an erect or semi-erect bush. Leaves are of medium and large size, flowers are white, and stems lack anthocyanin pigmentation. Seeds have a beige color, ranging from rounded to angular with weak ribbing; the mass of 1000 seeds varies from 235 to 344 grams, classifying as medium to large mass.

The variety demonstrates drought resistance at the level of standard varieties, scoring 5 points from emergence to flowering and 4.8 points from flowering to maturity. It is also resistant to lodging and shattering. The average yield in the region is 13.7 centners per hectare, 15.6 centners per hectare in Rostov Oblast, with a maximum yield reaching 22.5 centners per hectare. Over the years of testing, the variety was not affected by diseases or pests, demonstrating its reliability and stability under the agro-climatic conditions of the region.

The grain of the DONPLAZA variety is characterized by high protein content ranging from 15 to 22.5%, ensuring excellent taste qualities. Due to its characteristics and resistance to adverse conditions, this variety is an attractive choice for agricultural production, providing a stable and high-quality chickpea yield.
