PRIVO 1 is a mid-early variety of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) with a vegetative period ranging from 68 to 91 days. The plants have a bushy form with densely pubescent stems ranging from 40 to 86 cm in height, which ensures the convenience of mechanized harvesting. The leaves are oval-elongated, green with a serrated edge, flowers are white, axillary, and solitary. Pods are oval, light yellow, medium-sized, densely pubescent, and contain 1-2 seeds, rarely 3. Seeds are round, white, and smooth, with a diameter of 6-9 mm; the mass of 1000 seeds is 220-270 g.
The variety is characterized by high yield—on average about 26.9 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators reaching up to 30 centners per hectare. PRIVO 1 is resistant to lodging and pod shattering, possesses medium resistance to diseases, which contributes to a stable harvest. It matures 2-5 days earlier compared to reference varieties, which allows for more effective use of moisture accumulated during the autumn-winter-spring period. Protein content in the grain is high—ranging from 21.8% to 28%, making it valuable for food use.
Chickpeas PRIVO 1 are primarily used for obtaining grain products. Thanks to high culinary evaluation (5 points) and seed quality, it is in demand in agriculture. The sowing rate is 0.6-0.9 million viable seeds per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation in all regions of Russia, confirming its adaptability and stability under various climatic conditions.
