Tulip Jane Packer

Jane Packer: The Benchmark of Lily-Flowered Tulips

The Jane Packer tulip has established itself as a staple in the late-season landscape. As a member of the lily-flowered class, it is defined by its elegant, slender silhouette, characterized by gracefully reflexed, pointed petals that mimic the poise of a true lily. This variety is a firm favorite for those seeking to extend the flowering season with a splash of intense color.

Agronomic Resilience and Health

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Jane Packer is recognized for its robust health profile. Gardeners and growers often favor this variety for its reliability under pressure, specifically regarding common bulb pathogens:

• Tobacco Mosaic Virus: The cultivar exhibits notable resistance, ensuring the structural and visual integrity of the plant remains uncompromised.
• Fusarium: Its strong tolerance to this soil-borne fungus makes it a dependable choice for planting in diverse soil conditions.
• Cladosporium: Enhanced immunity against this pathogen prevents spotting, keeping both foliage and blooms pristine throughout the season.

The variety features a mid-height stem, striking a balance between visibility in the border and structural integrity against spring winds. Its deep red color, paired with its late-blooming cycle, makes it an essential tool for landscape architects aiming to provide a high-impact finish to the spring garden.

Market Positioning and Application

In the professional market, Jane Packer is valued for its consistency. It is frequently employed in formal garden schemes where its saturated red tones provide a sophisticated, uniform look. Furthermore, its longevity as a cut flower has made it a preferred choice in the floristry industry, where its unique shape and durability in the vase are highly prized during the late spring period.
