Tulip Jantje Beton

Operating Jante Beeton: A Grower’s Perspective

For greenhouse operators focusing on forcing, Jante Beeton stands out as a predictable and robust choice within the Triumph class. Success with this variety hinges on strict adherence to cooling protocols during the rooting phase. If the temperature regimen is ignored, you risk inconsistent stem heights; however, when managed correctly, the variety provides excellent uniformity across the entire batch.

Maintenance and Operational Efficiency

• Plant Quality: The bulbs exhibit high consistency, significantly reducing sorting labor before packaging.
• Physical Characteristics: As a short-stemmed variety, Jante Beeton is naturally resistant to lodging, even at high planting densities. This makes mechanical handling, crate loading, and transportation much more efficient compared to taller varieties.
• Flower Performance: The bright yellow petals hold their color intensity exceptionally well, maintaining a vivid, clean look under artificial and natural lighting.

Regarding service and care, Jante Beeton is forgiving and responsive. The stems are rigid and dense, preventing snapping or bruising during harvesting. From a nutrient management standpoint, it has standard requirements, responding effectively to calcium supplements, which further strengthens the stem structure. Its durability during transit makes it a reliable choice for commercial floriculture where shelf life and presentation are paramount.
