Tulip White Gander

Why «White Gander» is a top choice for professional growers

The «White Gander» Triumph tulip is a benchmark for growers seeking precision and consistency in spring production. Unlike many white varieties that may develop greenish tints or pinkish streaks under varying light conditions, this cultivar maintains a pristine, solid white hue from the moment the bud opens until the final stage of bloom.

Agronomic performance and disease resistance

The Triumph class is often associated with high productivity, but «White Gander» excels by offering superior biological stability. In commercial cultivation, minimizing losses is key, and this variety shows a clear advantage in its resistance to:

• Fusarium root rot: significantly reducing bulb loss during forcing.
• Septoria and Fusarium head blight: decreasing the reliance on heavy fungicide programs, which aligns with modern sustainable farming practices.

Professional application

With its tall, robust stems, «White Gander» is an excellent candidate for cut flower production. The flowers feature a classic goblet shape that remains firm during transportation and retail handling. As a mid-season bloomer, it perfectly bridges the production gap between early-season varieties and later hybrids, providing a consistent supply for the market.

Best practices for growers

This variety is highly recommended for professional greenhouse operations that prioritize high-quality stems. Given its height, attention to temperature control during the forcing phase is essential to prevent excessive stretching of the peduncle. By maintaining a steady, cool environment during the final stages of growth, growers can ensure the stems retain their strength and the blooms maintain their dense, premium-quality petal texture.
