Tulip Skif

A Gem of Southern Breeding

The 'Skif' tulip is a distinguished achievement of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, a research center with a long-standing history of plant breeding. This variety embodies the resilience and aesthetic refinement of the southern breeding school. Unlike many mass-market imported hybrids, 'Skif' is engineered for stability and distinct visual appeal, making it a reliable choice for professional gardeners.

Aesthetic Profile and Morphology

The visual identity of this variety is defined by a vibrant, intense yellow hue that retains its saturation throughout the flowering season. Its defining feature is the fringed petal edge, which gives the flower an intricate, premium look highly valued in landscape design and professional floristry.

• Stalk height: 35–45 cm, making it versatile for both cut flower production and compact border plantings.
• Bud size: 6–8 cm, providing balanced and elegant proportions.
• Usage: An excellent candidate for container gardening and terrace decorations where space management is key.

Although it lacks a pronounced fragrance, the 'Skif' tulip compensates with its "sunny" radiance and notable resilience against fluctuating weather conditions. As a sun-loving plant, it thrives in open, warm locations where the sunlight interacts beautifully with its delicate, fringed petals.
