Tulip TONYA

Site Management and Planting

The 'Tonya' tulip, developed by the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, is designed for stability and resilience in varying weather conditions. When establishing these plantings, ensure a planting depth of 10–12 cm. This depth is critical for protecting the bulb from temperature fluctuations while allowing the root system to anchor the plant, which grows to a height of 55–65 cm.

Operational Characteristics

The large, 10–12 cm soft pink bloom is a standout feature for decorative landscaping. The plant exhibits a sturdy stem, which provides excellent wind resistance compared to more fragile varieties. 'Tonya' is engineered for high-impact visual results in both large-scale public bedding and private garden layouts.

• Planting depth: 10–12 cm (non-negotiable for consistent emergence).
• Height: 55–65 cm — plan your bed layering accordingly.
• Bloom size: 10–12 cm — maintains structural integrity throughout the flowering cycle.

Maintenance involves monitoring soil moisture during the bud-development stage. Given the genetic pedigree of this variety, it performs exceptionally well under standard commercial fertilizing regimes, offering a reliable, low-maintenance solution for high-quality floral displays.
