Tulip Scandinavia

Scandinavia Tulip: A Reliable Choice for Commercial Floriculture

The 'Scandinavia' tulip is a standout representative of the Triumph class, favored by professional growers for its consistent performance and high yield quality. When planning a production cycle, agricultural managers prioritize stability, and this hybrid delivers exactly that through its predictable growth stages and moderate height, which is optimal for cut-flower production.

Disease Resistance and Farm Management

In intensive cultivation, managing fungal pathogens is the highest operational cost. 'Scandinavia' offers a significant advantage with its strong genetic resilience against common threats, allowing growers to reduce the frequency of chemical interventions. The plant has proven immunity to:

• Alternaria leaf blight;
• Sclerotinia;
• Phoma;
• Basal rot (Black leg).

This durability makes it an excellent choice for both greenhouse forcing and open-field cultivation, ensuring that plants maintain structural integrity even in humid conditions. By choosing a variety that is naturally resistant to these specific diseases, farms can significantly minimize crop loss during the critical growth phase.

Practical Applications

With its striking red and white petal combination, the 'Scandinavia' tulip occupies a high-demand segment of the market. Its moderate blooming schedule fits perfectly into the mid-spring logistics pipeline. For commercial operations, the primary value lies in the flower's post-harvest longevity and the ease with which it can be bunched for transport. This variety is designed for growers who prioritize a low-maintenance, high-stability crop that retains its market value from the moment of harvest to the retail shelf.
