Tulip Schermeer

Practical cultivation insights for the «Scherer» tulip

For professional flower growers and greenhouse operators, choosing the «Scherer» variety means focusing on predictable results. As a member of the «Triumph» group, this tulip has proven itself as a reliable asset for spring crop cycles.

Operational performance

During cultivation, the variety demonstrates excellent resistance to pathogens, which is critical when managing high-density greenhouse planting. Its inherent resistance to root rot and Fusarium helps minimize losses of planting material, thereby reducing maintenance labor and fungicide costs. The plant reaches a medium height, making it efficient for harvesting, packing, and bouquet assembly without the need for additional stem support systems.

Flowering and commercial value

«Scherer» is a mid-season variety, allowing for an efficient flowering calendar. Its pink petals feature the dense, firm structure characteristic of all «Triumph» tulips, ensuring superior shelf life and transportability. For the operator, this translates to a lower rejection rate and the ability to distribute the product to distant markets without compromising quality.

• Type: Hybrid (Triumph class).
• Resistance: High tolerance to Fusarium and root rot.
• Appearance: Soft pink color with a classic goblet-shaped bloom.
• Size: Medium height, ideal for cut flower production.

By integrating this variety, growers gain a balanced crop that combines low maintenance, high disease resistance, and a steady market demand for the classic pink aesthetic during the spring season.
