Tulip Roland

Field Performance of the "Roland" Tulip

The "Roland" Triumph tulip is a reliable choice for professional growers who prioritize efficiency and consistency in their production cycle. From a management perspective, this cultivar offers predictable performance from the cooling stage to harvest, reducing the complexities of crop maintenance.

Disease Resistance as a Cost-Reduction Factor

One of the primary advantages of this hybrid is its robust genetic resistance profile, which significantly decreases the need for intensive chemical applications:

• Verticillium wilt resistance ensures a healthy root system.
• Peronospora (downy mildew) resistance keeps the foliage intact, which is vital for bulb nourishment.
• Phomopsis and Phoma resistance minimizes the risk of sudden crop loss, streamlining your spray schedule and reducing overhead costs.

Operational Efficiency and Quality

The medium-height growth habit combined with a sturdy stem makes "Roland" exceptionally easy to harvest and transport. These characteristics ensure the flower reaches the market without damage, maintaining a high pack-out rate. The red-and-white petal coloration is a classic market favorite, and the mid-season flowering window allows for efficient workforce allocation during the peak harvest period. By following standard fertilization protocols, producers can achieve high uniformity with minimal intervention, making this a highly scalable asset for any flower farm.
