Tulip Furand

Design and Phytosanitary Resilience of the Furand Tulip

The Furand tulip, a prominent member of the Triumph class, is engineered for balance between visual appeal and robust physiological performance. The genetic profile of this cultivar emphasizes high resistance to pathogens such as downy mildew, Phomopsis, Phoma, and sunflower rust, which significantly reduces the need for intensive fungicide applications during the growth cycle.

Technical Development Metrics

• Growth Architecture: The medium-height stem features high tissue density, ensuring structural integrity and preventing lodging under varying environmental conditions.
• Phenology: Its medium-term blooming schedule facilitates organized harvesting and marketing logistics.
• Pigmentation Strategy: The striking bi-color combination of red and white petals is secured by a stable distribution of anthocyanins, ensuring minimal fading post-harvest.

For professional growers, the technical value of the Furand lies in its superior turgor retention and cuticle strength. The plant’s ability to withstand temperature fluctuations and humidity swings ensures that the bloom remains intact during logistics, making it a reliable asset for floral distribution chains.
