Tulip Rosana

A Bold Spring Statement: The Greigii Tulip 'Rosana'

The Rosana tulip belongs to the spectacular Greigii class, prized by gardeners for its unique blend of compactness and large, expressive blooms. Unlike many taller hybrids, this variety maintains a medium height, making it resilient against spring winds and ideal for both border landscaping and container gardening.

The defining visual feature of Rosana is its dual-tone petal coloration, blending vibrant yellow and intense red hues. This striking contrast allows the variety to command attention in the garden during the early blooming season, just as the landscape begins to wake up. While the plant is generally low-maintenance, it requires the well-drained soil typical for all Greigii-type tulips to thrive.

Strengths and Characteristics

• Early Arrival: One of the first to kick off the season, creating brilliant color patches while other species are still in the budding phase.
• Proportional Growth: Its medium height makes it perfectly suited for the front of flower beds, where taller tulips might obstruct the view.
• Signature Silhouette: The characteristic Greigii shape—featuring slightly reflexed petal edges—gives the flower a distinct, wild-grown grace.

It is important to note that this variety performs best in open, sun-drenched locations. In deep shade, the red intensity may fade, and the stems may become unnecessarily leggy. Rosana is a premier choice for those who value the classic aesthetic of tulips combined with reliability and consistent annual performance.
