Tulip Mona Lisa

Aesthetics of late-season blooms in landscape design

The «Mona Lisa» tulip belongs to the lily-flowered category, highly valued by professional landscapers for its sophisticated bud shape and resilience to climatic stress. With its tall stem, this variety is ideal for creating backdrops in flower beds or focal points in gardens that require aesthetic appeal well into late spring.

Practical agronomic aspects

This variety is chosen for both commercial cultivation and private estates for several key reasons:

• Flowering timing: The late bloom cycle extends the visual season when early-spring crops have already faded.
• Disease resistance: Genetic resistance to golden potato cyst nematode, potato wart disease, and common scab makes «Mona Lisa» a reliable choice for crop rotation planning or mixed plantings in soils with a history of infection.
• Color profile: The transition from intense red to deep lilac hues creates a unique "color-play" effect, highly sought after in premium landscape projects.

When planning your layout, remember that this is a tall-growing variety. It is essential to select locations shielded from strong winds to ensure the long stems maintain their vertical integrity. Proper planting depth and soil drainage will maximize the variety's potential throughout the flowering period.
