Tulip Red Nova

Practical value of the Red Nova variety

The Red Nova double late tulip is a premier choice for commercial growers focusing on high-quality cut flowers and professional landscaping. Unlike early-blooming varieties, this tulip allows producers to capture market demand precisely when the interest in large, peony-like blooms is at its highest.

Agronomic advantages

• Disease resistance for stable margins: Breeding efforts have focused on minimizing risks common to bulbous crops. The variety shows strong resistance to Fusarium wilt, Alternaria, and Anthracnose. This characteristic allows growers to reduce the frequency and cost of fungicide applications during the intensive spring growth phase.
• Growing efficiency: With its medium height, Red Nova is highly versatile: it resists lodging in open fields even under windy conditions and is perfectly suited for greenhouse forcing in standard crates.

Operational scenarios

In commercial operations, Red Nova is highly valued for its performance in mass planting and spring borders. The dense structure of its red petals ensures excellent shelf life and durability during transport; the buds retain their marketability for 10-14 days in a vase. When scheduling agricultural operations, it is essential to provide the standard cooling period required for late tulips, which makes the production cycle highly predictable and helps hit specific sales deadlines.
