Tulip Rock and Roll

The Aesthetics of Double Flowering

The 'Rock and Roll' tulip is a prominent member of the Early Double class, well-established in both commercial forcing segments and landscape design. Professional growers favor it primarily for its dense bud structure and rich, deep red hue, which adds vibrant color to gardens or floral arrangements even on overcast days.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

This hybrid displays impressive hardiness for a double-flowered variety. Through selective breeding, it has developed significant resistance to major pathogens often found in intensive growing environments:

• Fusarium Wilt: The root system is notably resistant to fungal infections, which is critical for dense cultivation cycles.
• Anthracnose and Powdery Mildew: The plant effectively resists leaf infections, provided standard agricultural practices are met, maintaining foliage quality throughout the growing season.

While categorized as an 'Early' type by flower structure, it occupies a mid-season niche in terms of blooming time. This allows farmers to effectively manage their supply chain, filling the gap between ultra-early and late-blooming varieties.

Market Positioning

With a medium stem height, this tulip is a versatile choice. In commercial greenhouses, it is valued for its predictable yield of high-quality, standard-grade stems, while in gardening, it is prized for its excellent resistance to lodging. 'Rock and Roll' remains a staple for florists, enabling the creation of expressive, textured floral designs while minimizing losses during storage and transport. It is the ideal choice for those seeking a robust, 'workhorse' variety that balances decorative double-petaled beauty with low-maintenance crop protection.
