Tulip New Design

Status and Breeding Legacy

The New Design tulip rightfully holds a leading position in the 'Triumph' class, remaining the top choice for those who value predictable blooming and ornamental stability. This variety is a product of classic Dutch breeding, where the focus was on creating an aesthetically flawless plant capable of resisting a wide range of soil and air-borne pathogens. In the market, it is recognized as a benchmark for reliability in both professional landscape design and commercial forcing.

Agrotechnics and Protection

The key feature of New Design is its genetic resilience. Unlike many modern hybrids that demand intensive fungicide applications, this variety demonstrates strong natural immunity to the most damaging bulbous diseases:

• Alternaria leaf spot;
• Downy mildew (Peronospora);
• Phoma rot;
• Black leg.

This resistance significantly reduces the need for chemical intervention, making it a preferred option for eco-conscious floriculture and urban greening projects where minimal agrochemical activity is essential.

Visual Impact

The aesthetic profile of New Design is defined by its delicate yet deep pink petal coloration. As a mid-season flowering variety, it develops a neat, medium-sized goblet bloom atop a sturdy, mid-height stem. These characteristics make it suitable for both dense mass plantings and as a cut flower, maintaining freshness in a vase for up to 10–14 days. The harmonious balance between stem height and bud volume ensures its status as a versatile tool for classic garden beds and sophisticated floral arrangements.
