Tulip Blue Ribbon

Elegance in Shades of Lilac

The 'Blue Ribbon' tulip, a classic member of the 'Triumph' group, is prized by professional growers for its exceptional flower architecture and field reliability. Unlike many varieties in this class, 'Blue Ribbon' demonstrates a rare resistance to sun fading, maintaining its deep lilac intensity throughout the entire blooming cycle.

Why Choose This Variety

• Stem Strength: With its medium height and sturdy stalk, this variety maintains its structure even in windy spring weather, significantly reducing post-harvest waste.
• Color Consistency: The rich lilac tone does not shift towards blue or pink, making it a predictable and reliable choice for floral arrangements.
• Blooming Window: As a mid-season bloomer, it perfectly bridges the gap between early single tulips and late-season hybrids, ensuring continuous supply for market or garden displays.

The main strength of 'Blue Ribbon' is its reliability. It acts less like a delicate ornament and more like a workhorse for landscaping and greenhouse forcing. Its key advantages include excellent transportability and long vase life. However, like most Triumph tulips, it requires well-drained soil; waterlogged conditions can increase the risk of root rot.

Who is this variety for? Commercial growers focused on high-quality cut flowers, and garden enthusiasts looking for a low-maintenance tulip with a sophisticated, deep color profile.
