Tulip Mustang

Combining Resilience and Aesthetics in Commercial Floriculture

The 'Mustang' tulip, a fringed-type cultivar with a mid-season bloom, is engineered for commercial producers who require both visual appeal and agricultural reliability. Its striking red petals and tall stature make it a staple for premium bouquet production and professional landscape design.

Agricultural Advantages and Disease Resistance

In intensive production, loss prevention is the primary objective. The 'Mustang' cultivar stands out due to its genetic resistance to key pathogens such as downy mildew (peronospora), phomopsis, and phoma. This intrinsic resilience allows growers to reduce their reliance on frequent fungicide applications, optimizing labor costs and overall input expenses while maintaining high crop standards.

Scenario-Based Applications

• Forcing and Cut Flowers: Thanks to its robust stem and disease resistance, this variety performs exceptionally well under greenhouse conditions. It responds predictably to temperature regulation, ensuring that producers can meet the demanding timelines of spring flower markets.
• Landscape Development: The characteristic fringed edge of the petals provides a sophisticated texture for public gardens and high-end landscaping projects. Its height allows for structural depth, while its disease resistance ensures a vibrant display throughout the season.
• Open Field Production: The variety's tolerance to environmental stress makes it a safe bet for regions where high spring humidity typically fosters fungal outbreaks.

By integrating 'Mustang' into your crop rotation, you choose a variety that balances ornamental excellence with the rugged health necessary for large-scale operations.
