Tulip Acropolis

Reliability in production: why professional growers choose Akropolis

Darwin hybrid tulips are the backbone of commercial flower production, and 'Akropolis' stands out as a reliable variety designed for predictable outcomes. Its reputation is built on biological resilience, making it a preferred choice for large-scale field cultivation and urban landscaping.

Agrotechnical resilience in the field

The main challenge for mid-season blooming tulips is susceptibility to fungal infections during the typical temperature fluctuations of the spring season. 'Akropolis' offers robust resistance against Sclerotinia, Peronospora, Phomopsis, and Phoma. For the agronomist, this translates to fewer fungicide applications and a significantly lower risk of losing bloom quality right before harvest.

Practical application scenarios

• Commercial cut flower production: Featuring tall stems and a classic red bloom, this variety is optimized for automated harvesting. The firm petal structure ensures excellent shelf life and durability during transport.
• Urban landscaping: The tall, sturdy stems allow the variety to maintain its structure even during high winds, preventing lodging in open areas and ensuring aesthetic consistency in public parks.
• Operational planning: The predictable medium blooming time allows managers to sync harvest cycles and transition to subsequent crop rotations with high efficiency.

The height of the plant facilitates easier mechanical handling and harvesting, reducing labor costs and simplifying the management of the growth cycle in professional nurseries.
