Tulip Lalibela

Professional Choice: Why Lalibela Dominates the Mid-Season

In commercial tulip production, risk management is paramount. The Darwinii hybrid 'Lalibela' stands out as a reliable choice for growers who prioritize consistent, high-quality yields. Known for its intense red color and robust physiological structure, this variety fits perfectly into mid-season crop cycles.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

The primary competitive advantage of 'Lalibela' is its strong disease resistance profile. In high-density greenhouse environments, fungal infections like Peronospora (downy mildew), Phomopsis, and Phoma leaf spot can devastate a crop. 'Lalibela' naturally resists these pathogens, which allows agronomists to reduce the intensity of chemical interventions, lowering overall production costs and ensuring a cleaner, more sustainable harvest.

Operational Use in Farming

• Harvest Planning: As a mid-blooming variety, 'Lalibela' helps balance labor demands and equipment usage, bridging the gap between early and late-season inventories.
• Commercial Viability: Its tall stems and firm petal structure ensure excellent vase life and endurance during transport, making it a preferred option for wholesale distribution and retail floristry.
• Cultivation Efficiency: The variety is responsive to standard fertilization and irrigation protocols. It consistently produces high-quality bulbs, facilitating simplified crop management without the need for specialized, costly agro-technical adjustments.

For operations aiming to minimize losses while maximizing visual impact, 'Lalibela' provides a balanced performance. It is an optimal choice for greenhouses that value high turnover and a predictable crop output.
