Tulip Nairobi

Resilience Meets Refinement

The 'Nairobi' tulip stands out as a benchmark of the Triumph class, favored for professional forcing and landscape design. Its primary competitive advantage lies in the fusion of a classic goblet shape with extraordinary petal density. Unlike many peers in its category, 'Nairobi' maintains perfect bud geometry even during temperature fluctuations, ensuring predictable results for commercial producers.

Visual Profile and Form

The aesthetic profile is defined by a deep transition from vibrant red to a sophisticated burgundy. Due to its tall stem, this tulip maintains a strong, vertical presence in bouquets, resisting deformation. Its mid-season bloom time allows 'Nairobi' to integrate seamlessly into spring production schedules, bridging the gap between early varieties and late double tulips.

Key Advantages for Growers

• Disease Resistance: The variety features genetically inherent protection against Fusarium and Verticillium wilt, which is critical for intensive indoor cultivation.
• Plant Health: Resistance to major viral threats, including tomato mosaic virus and leaf curl, significantly reduces plant loss during the cropping cycle.
• Cultivation Efficiency: A sturdy, robust stem simplifies mechanical harvesting, while its resistance to Cladosporium reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications in high-humidity conditions.

'Nairobi' is an optimal choice for growers targeting the premium cut-flower market. While it is forgiving of minor agricultural imperfections, it reaches its full commercial potential under strict temperature control during the forcing process.
