Tulip Virily Red

Engineering of Lily-Flowered Form

Virichic (Viril Red) represents a refined breeding achievement within the lily-flowered tulip category. The plant’s architectural integrity is defined by its elongated, gracefully recurved petals that mimic the silhouette of a lily. This design is not merely ornamental; it relies on a dense petal cellular structure and high lignin content in the stem, providing structural rigidity against wind and environmental stress.

Phytosanitary Resilience

The primary technical advantage of Virichic is its robust resistance to soil-borne pathogens, specifically Verticillium and Fusarium wilt. In commercial cultivation, these fungi are the main drivers of crop loss. Virichic employs a biological defense strategy involving high-density protective layers in the bulb basal plate, preventing fungal hyphae from penetrating the plant's vascular system. This resistance significantly reduces reliance on intensive fungicide treatments during the growth cycle.

Agrotechnical Profile

As a late-season bloomer, this hybrid is designed to close the gap in the spring flowering sequence. Its tall, upright stature is supported by an optimized vascular system that ensures efficient nutrient transport to the bloom, keeping the intense red coloration vibrant even under high UV exposure. The stability of the pigment, derived from a high concentration of localized anthocyanins, ensures minimal color degradation, maintaining market quality for extended periods.
