Tulip Mont Ventoux

Steel Character in a Creamy Finish

The Mont Ventoux tulip, belonging to the Triumph class, occupies a unique space where aesthetics meet farming pragmatism. Unlike many delicate mid-season varieties, this hybrid demonstrates a level of disease resistance rarely seen in its segment, making it the preferred choice for regions with volatile climates.

An Agrotechnical Shield

The primary strength of Mont Ventoux lies in its hardiness. While many competitors require intensive fungicide programs, this variety possesses a natural immunity to:

• Downy mildew, critical for damp spring conditions.
• Fusarium wilt, a common issue during bulb storage.
• Powdery mildew and spider mites, which frequently plague greenhouse plantings.

Profile and Application

The creamy hue of the petals gives the bud a refined, high-end look, highly valued in floristry for mono-bouquets and elegant wedding arrangements. Its medium stem height ensures a clean harvest: the flower does not require complex staking and maintains excellent vertical integrity during transport.

Who is this variety for? Primarily for growers moving from hobbyist beds to commercial production. Mont Ventoux is forgiving of minor agrotechnical errors and provides a consistent yield of marketable bulbs. However, it is essential to remember: despite its disease resistance, the plant requires proper soil drainage, as excess root moisture remains the single weakness of most Triumph-class tulips.
