Tulip Kungsholm

A fiery accent for late spring

The Kungsholm tulip, belonging to the Triumph class, is a favorite for both commercial floriculture and private gardens. Unlike early varieties, this tulip waits for stable warmth before blooming, effectively extending the flowering season in your garden.

Why choose Kungsholm?

• Architectural form: The goblet-shaped bud maintains its crisp outline even when fully open, avoiding the common "ragged" look of other varieties.
• Saturated pigment: The orange hue of the petals has a deep undertone that resists fading under the spring sun, retaining its vibrancy until the end of its life cycle.
• Triumph class resilience: The variety features a sturdy, medium-height stem that resists bending under strong winds or heavy spring rains, a frequent issue with taller tulip varieties.

Pros and Cons
Its main advantage is predictability. This variety is ideal for landscape arrangements where synchronized blooming and uniform height are essential. A potential weakness is its requirement for soil quality: good drainage is vital to maintain the intense orange color and the health of the bulb. Excess moisture is the primary enemy of the Kungsholm.

This tulip is the perfect choice for those who value classic, structured forms paired with a vibrant, cheerful palette. It shines in mass plantings, creating a spectacular "fiery" border, and is also suitable for forcing if you aim to produce high-quality cut flowers late in the season.
