Tulip Orange Princess

Peony-like aesthetics for late-spring gardens

The 'Orange Princess' tulip is a standout choice for those who feel that late-blooming varieties often lack the flair of early ones. As a member of the Double Late tulip class, this variety defies expectations by mimicking the dense, layered structure of a peony. Its heavy, multi-petaled bloom offers a volume and sophistication that standard goblet-shaped tulips simply cannot match.

Key characteristics

• Vibrant Hues: The intense, saturated orange color with a subtle copper undertone provides a striking visual impact. Unlike paler varieties, the 'Orange Princess' maintains its depth of color throughout its blooming cycle without fading into a dull yellow.
• Weather Resilience: Because of the dense arrangement of its petals, this variety handles spring rain better than many delicate types, maintaining its form longer.
• Late-Season Bloom: Being a late-blooming variety, it effectively extends the gardening season, bridging the gap between early spring bulbs and the start of summer perennials.

Who is this tulip for?

This variety is ideal for landscape designers working on multi-layered flower beds that require mid-height focal points, as well as for gardeners looking for high-quality cut flowers. It performs exceptionally well in a vase, holding its upright posture for a significant amount of time. If you appreciate "peony-flowered" forms and warm palettes that can brighten a grey spring day, this is your perfect candidate.

A point to note: due to the size and weight of its double flower, the 'Orange Princess' performs best in areas sheltered from strong winds to prevent the stems from bending.
