Tulip African Queen

Technical Profile of the Variety

The 'African Queen' tulip belongs to the Triumph class. This breeding line synthesizes the morphological traits of simple early tulips and Darwin hybrids, which practically ensures high stem rigidity. The medium-height habit of the plant allows for effective use in both forcing and landscape design, minimizing the risk of lodging under wind stress.

Color Architecture and Growth Cycles

The visual code of the variety is based on a high-contrast combination of white and lilac pigments. The petals possess a dense texture characteristic of late-blooming Triumph varieties, which increases their turgor and resistance to mechanical damage. The late flowering period effectively extends the decorative cycle of the garden, bridging the gap between early bulbous flowers and summer perennials.

Phytosanitary Indicators

A key advantage of this hybrid is its natural resistance to Fusarium. In greenhouse conditions and intensive forcing, where fungal bulb rot is a critical factor for crop loss, 'African Queen' demonstrates a high threshold of biological defense. This reduces the necessity for intensive fungicide applications and improves the yield of high-grade commercial bulbs.
