Tulip Giant Parrot

The Art of Exotic Foliage: Giant Parrot Tulips

The Giant Parrot tulip is a true statement piece, celebrated in the horticultural world for its dramatic, feathered-like petals. Belonging to the prestigious Parrot class, this variety is defined by its deep, serrated edges and ruffled, twisting petals that mimic the plumage of an exotic bird. With its bold, deep red hue, it provides a striking texture that stands out even in the most diverse floral collections.

Market Positioning and Cultivation

• Bloom Time: Classified as mid-season, this hybrid bridges the gap perfectly between the early spring bulbs and the later summer blooms.
• Structural Profile: With an average height, this tulip is versatile enough for borders, mid-layer bedding, or feature pots on a patio.
• Garden Performance: While visually complex, it maintains the resilience required for professional landscaping, provided it is shielded from harsh winds that could compromise its delicate, fringed structure.

In the trade, Giant Parrot is highly regarded by landscape designers for its "specimen" quality. It is rarely used in mass plantings; instead, its true value lies in being a focal point, drawing the eye to areas of contrast and texture. Beyond the garden, it is a staple in high-end floral design, where the full, intricate geometry of the flower can be appreciated at close range. Its historical reputation as a classic among parrot-type tulips ensures steady demand for both landscape architecture and premium cut-flower production.
