Tulip Flaming Coquette

Strategy for Early Forcing

Flaming Coquette is a Single Early tulip variety, positioning it as a strategic asset for operations specializing in spring forcing for early-season floral demands. Its primary advantage lies in development predictability under precise temperature control, which minimizes loss risks during the greenhouse cycle.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

The selection of this variety for commercial cultivation is driven by its strong genetic resistance to pathogens that typically plague bulbous crops. Growers report low culling rates due to the plant’s high resilience against common soil-borne and viral diseases, including:

• Verticillium wilt;
• Tobacco mosaic virus;
• Fusarium.

These traits significantly reduce the need for intensive fungicide applications and enable cultivation in high-rotation plots without the constant need for substrate replacement.

Commercial Application Scenarios

With a medium stem height and a robust, dense bloom, Flaming Coquette serves as a versatile tool for both mono-bunches and mixed floral arrangements. Its soft white petals, contrasted by vibrant yellow accents, make it highly desirable for both landscape staging and commercial cutting. The variety performs reliably in outdoor soil conditions, yet reaches peak marketable yield under controlled hydroponic or soil-based forcing. Consistent blooming cycles and high petal density ensure excellent transport durability, a critical factor for producers supplying distant wholesale markets.
