Tulip Flaming Purissima

Technical Profile of the Flaming Purissima Cultivar

As a representative of the Fosteriana tulip class, Flaming Purissima is a specialized hybrid engineered for early-season vigor and high environmental resilience. Its development strategy focuses on cold-start capability and structural integrity.

Biological and Structural Specifications

• Root System Dynamics: The cultivar features an expansive root structure inherited from wild Fosteriana ancestors. This allows for rapid nutrient and water uptake in cold early-spring soils, providing the necessary energy for premature development.
• Stem Physiology: The medium stem height is balanced to provide maximum resistance to wind shear and heavy precipitation. The stem's internal vascular density minimizes lodging risks, even during rapid elongation periods.
• Flower Morphology: The yellow pigment, combined with the classic Purissima mutation, provides high structural stability to the tepals. The bud is designed to maintain turgor pressure efficiently, allowing it to withstand the thermal stress of early spring cycles.

Agronomic Utility

From an industrial perspective, Flaming Purissima is optimized for productivity. The cultivar requires minimal heat input for bulb cooling, making it a cost-effective solution for forced growth. Its genetic stability ensures a uniform harvest cycle, which is essential for commercial scalability. The ability of the plant to manage transient cold snaps without compromising inflorescence quality makes it a robust choice for growers aiming to capture early market segments with minimal loss due to pathological or environmental factors.
