Tulip Eurostar

The Eurostar tulip holds a firm position within the classic red cultivar segment of the Triumph class. This group is widely recognized as the gold standard in commercial floriculture, and Eurostar fits perfectly into this niche due to its balanced agronomic performance and reliable output.

Agronomic Resilience

The primary value of this hybrid lies in its high field resistance. Unlike many ornamental varieties that demand intensive fungicide schedules, Eurostar displays a strong innate resistance to common bulb pathogens, effectively mitigating risks associated with:

• Verticillium wilt;
• Downy mildew (Peronospora);
• Phomopsis;
• Phoma leaf spot.

This genetic robustness allows growers to reduce chemical interventions, thereby lowering the total cost of production per stem in large-scale operations.

Technical Specifications and Market Position

Eurostar is categorized as a mid-season bloomer. In the market, it is valued for its predictability: the forcing process is consistent and manageable, which is vital for timing harvests for seasonal demand. The plant reaches a medium height, making it highly compatible with standard transportation and packaging logistics, while also fitting well into common floral design formats.

Visually, the variety is defined by a deep, classic red hue. It remains a timeless, high-demand color in bouquet arrangements. The dense flower head maintains its shape even after transport, which earns the variety high marks among professional florists and wholesale distributors.

The application of this variety is primarily focused on professional greenhouse forcing, where reliability and quality of cut are the most critical factors. Eurostar does not require unique growing conditions, as it adapts seamlessly to standard technological protocols established for Triumph class tulips.
