Tulip Diplomat

Professional Cut Flower Production

The «Diplomat» tulip is a staple for growers focused on the commercial floristry market and greenhouse forcing. As a Darwin hybrid, it is valued for its resilience and predictable development, making it an ideal candidate for high-efficiency production schedules that target specific peak sales dates.

Technical Specifications and Cultivation

• Growth and Dimensions: A mid-season bloomer reaching a total height of 55–65 cm, with a sturdy 45–60 cm stem. These dimensions are optimal for professional cutting, ensuring the flower is tall enough for standard bouquet designs while maintaining sufficient structural integrity for transport.
• Forcing Performance: The «Diplomat» variety is characterized by its ability to withstand temperature fluctuations during greenhouse forcing. The blooms reach 10–12 cm in size, and their vibrant red color, combined with distinctive fringed petal edges, adds significant aesthetic value to floral arrangements.
• Operational Benefits: When managed correctly, this cultivar minimizes labor costs related to staking. Its balanced growth habit allows for uniform development under controlled light conditions, which is critical for maintaining consistency across a crop.

For optimal results, prioritize consistent nutrient management during the forcing stage. Ensuring uniform lighting across the greenhouse beds will prevent unnecessary stem elongation, resulting in high-quality, long-lasting flowers. «Diplomat» remains a reliable choice for operations that prioritize both visual impact and production logistics.
