Tulip Blue Bell

Blue Bell: The Resilience of Triumph Tulips

The 'Blue Bell' tulip stands out in the Triumph class due to its distinct combination of structural integrity and resistance to common bulb diseases. While many varieties in this class focus primarily on aesthetic form, Blue Bell offers a practical advantage for growers: a high level of natural resilience against anthracnose and fusarium wilt. This makes it a reliable choice for commercial cut flower production where minimizing losses is critical.

Why Blue Bell excels in the landscape

Blue Bell is characterized by its sturdy stems and the classic goblet-shaped bloom, which remains intact even through variable spring weather. Its mid-season flowering period provides a bridge between early-blooming varieties and the later arrivals, offering a consistent burst of deep lilac color that holds well in both sunlight and partial shade.

• Visual appeal: A deep, saturated lilac that maintains its intensity throughout the blooming cycle.
• Growth habit: Medium height, making it versatile for both garden borders and professional greenhouse beds.
• Disease management: High immunity to Fusarium and Anthracnose reduces the need for heavy fungicide application.

For optimal performance, focus on soil drainage. Like most Triumph hybrids, Blue Bell thrives in fertile, well-drained soil. It is an excellent choice for those who value consistency and low maintenance without sacrificing visual impact.
