Tulip Amateras

Market Positioning and Reputation

The 'Amateras' tulip has established itself as a staple in professional horticulture, representing the esteemed 'Triumph' class. Named after the sun goddess, this hybrid is characterized by its deep, vibrant lilac hue. Within the commercial greenhouse sector, it is highly regarded for its predictability and consistent performance, filling a vital niche in the mid-season flowering schedule.

Agronomic Strengths

What sets 'Amateras' apart in a crowded market is its robust phytosanitary profile. Unlike many high-maintenance ornamental cultivars, this hybrid offers strong resistance to common fungal threats that typically plague bulb production. Growers rely on its natural resilience against:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora);
• Phomopsis;
• Phoma blight (Phomosis).

This genetic resistance significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, optimizing production costs and supporting sustainable growing practices.

Commercial Utility

The medium height and sturdy stems of 'Amateras' make it an ideal choice for floral production. Its classic, goblet-shaped 'Triumph' flower retains its form and vibrancy for 10–14 days in a vase, provided standard post-harvest conditions are met. This makes it a preferred variety for wholesalers and retailers looking for reliability and high-quality cut flowers that perform well in the supply chain.
