Triticale Maýtok Polýsskyj

Resilience for Challenging Winter Conditions

Winter triticale 'Sadyba Poliska' (or 'Usadba Polesskaya'), developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS, is a reliable choice for farmers seeking consistent performance under harsh winter conditions. The primary competitive advantage of this variety is its inherent resistance to snow mold. This feature is particularly valuable in regions prone to heavy snow cover followed by early spring thaws, which often trigger fungal infections in less resistant crops.

On-Farm Application and Scenarios

With a plant height of 110-120 cm, this variety serves a dual purpose. It is not only a high-yielding grain producer with excellent amino acid composition, but it also provides a substantial biomass output, making it highly desirable for livestock farms that require quality straw for bedding or fodder supplementation.

• Crop Rotation: Its resistance profile allows for greater flexibility in rotation, showing stability even in fields with higher infection pressure from previous years.
• Agronomic Management: The variety responds well to standard winter cereal protocols. However, due to its height, nitrogen application must be carefully managed in the spring to promote yield without increasing the risk of lodging.
• Operational Benefits: By reducing the need for intensive fungicide treatments against snow-related diseases, farmers can significantly optimize their input costs per hectare.

Choosing 'Sadyba Poliska' means prioritizing field safety. It is an ideal tool for large-scale production where the goal is to maintain high-quality feed output while minimizing weather-related risks during the winter dormant phase.
