Triticale winter variety "ELEPHANT" is intended for use as a fodder crop, particularly effective for obtaining green fodder in the green conveyor, as well as for preparing silage, hay, granules, and pellets. This variety is characterized by very high vegetation, reaching up to 170 cm in height, and a late heading date, which allows obtaining a significant volume of green mass. Potential grain yield is 130 centners per hectare, and green mass yield in variety trials reached 960 centners per hectare, surpassing standard varieties.
Variety "ELEPHANT" is registered for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including Central, Volga-Vyatsky, Central-Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga. Thanks to its high yield indicators and adaptability, it is a promising choice for agricultural enterprises focused on fodder production.
In addition to fodder use, flour from grain of the "ELEPHANT" variety has technological properties that allow its use in the food industry, specifically for baking bread according to rye technology and producing flour confectionery products such as muffins. Studies have shown that triticale flour "ELEPHANT" has a higher water- and fat-holding capacity compared to wheat flour, which positively affects the quality of baking. Organoleptic and physico-chemical indicators of products made from this flour correspond to standards, confirming its suitability for producing high-quality food products with improved nutritional properties.
