Triticale Polissky 7

Stability in Northern Soils: The Potential of "Polisskyi 7"

When selecting winter triticale for Northern and Central Ukraine, farmers prioritize two critical parameters: winter hardiness and resilience against moisture-driven pathogens. The "Polisskyi 7" variety, developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS, addresses the needs of farms operating on sod-podzolic soils.

The standout feature of this variety is its specific adaptation to stress factors typical of early spring. Unlike many foreign hybrids that often succumb to snow mold pressure, "Polisskyi 7" demonstrates high resistance to this disease. This allows farmers to reduce fungicide application costs immediately after the snow melts.

Agrotechnical Highlights

• Plant Height: 110-120 cm. The stalk possesses sufficient structural strength, minimizing lodging risks if seeding rates are respected.
• Phytosanitary Profile: The variety shows pronounced tolerance to root rots. This is critical for crop rotations where triticale follows other cereals.
• Application: An optimal choice for fodder production and the feed industry, thanks to its well-balanced protein content.

Who is this for? "Polisskyi 7" is not designed as an "intensity record-breaker" requiring maximum fertilizer doses. It is a reliable workhorse for farms where the priority is a guaranteed harvest without the risk of total crop failure due to fungal infections. It is forgiving of minor agronomic inconsistencies while maximizing its potential with proper autumn soil preparation.
