Timothy grass «VIK 911» is a high-yielding variety created through multiple positive selection based on the hybridization of the VIK 9 variety and breeding samples. It belongs to diploid varieties with an semi-erect bush, where leaves have a medium-width green color, and the flag leaf has a short-medium length. The bush reaches tall stems, and internodes are of medium-long size.
The variety is distinguished by stable and increased seed and fodder productivity: in high agronomic backgrounds, yield exceeds standards by 17%, and in low ones by 30%. Average dry matter yield ranges from 24.4% to 37.6% in different regions, while protein content is within the range of 8.2–9.19%. Fiber makes up about 31-32%, which is higher than the standard level. Maximum yield figures were achieved in the Kaliningrad and Malo-Arkhangelsk GUS, where over 130 c/ha were obtained.
The vegetative period is characterized by early-medium flowering, which allows the use of the variety in a hay-cutting regime for up to five to eight years. When mixed with meadow clover (1% clover) and applying the 600 kg/ha protocol, where VIK 911 constitutes 500 kg/ha, up to 10 t/ha of dry matter is achieved. The variety is widely used for cattle supplementation and creating quality fodder rations due to its rich nutritional composition and good adaptability to various climatic conditions.
