Description Golden
Chard variety 'Golden' features bright golden-orange stems and dark green foliage adorned with live veins. The variety is cold-hardy and quickly grows, making it an ideal choice for both decorative leafy plates and large, juicy stalks. Full fruit maturity is reached within 60 days after sowing, while young greens can be harvested as early as 30 days.

This chard variety is easy to grow in open ground from early spring to late autumn and can even overwinter, providing the earliest greens after winter. Sowing is typically done in early May at a depth of 2.5 cm; with proper care, the plant does not require special conditions – moderate watering and soil loosening are sufficient.

The nutritive properties of 'Golden' chard make it a valuable ingredient for the kitchen: the leaves are rich in vitamins (especially carotene), proteins, sugars, and mineral salts. They are used in fresh salads, pies, omelets, as well as in traditional dishes – stuffed cabbage rolls, dolmas, and borscht. Thanks to the average leaf height of up to 65 cm and average stalk size, the yield is usually between 500 and 600 g per plant. Such chard combines taste, benefit, and ease of cultivation, making it a popular choice among gardeners and chefs.
