Description BEET CHARD
Beet Chard – early leaf beet (chard) variety that quickly yields harvest in open ground. The vegetative period is about 40 days, and the plant is usually planted by seeds. It tolerates cold weather and short-term frosts well, however the optimal temperature for growth is in the range +15–23 °C. Regular watering contributes to the formation of juicy large leaves and bright red petioles.

The variety differs in high yield: from one square meter you can collect 25–30 kg of leaves and about 10 kg of petioles, which are consumed both fresh and after boiling. Leaves are rich green color, smooth and tender, and curly strands of 30–40 cm length give dishes a bright contrast. The plant recovers quickly after cutting, which allows multiple harvesting during the season.

Chard is not only a tasty vegetable culture, but also a source of useful substances: proteins, vitamins, calcium and iron. It does not require special soil conditions, so it is suitable for most garden plots. Leaf harvesting usually begins in June and continues until October, which makes it a convenient addition to the summer diet.
