BRIDE

Chard «Bride» – a mid-season variety of leaf beet from the Amaranthaceae family, distinguished by a compact vertical rosette up to 60 cm high and large, weakly blistered dark green leaves. Medium-sized leaves possess a delicate taste, crunchy texture, and high content of vitamins and minerals, making them a valuable ingredient for both fresh salads and hot dishes.

Chard stems «Bride» are long, wide, and juicy, white with a golden hue. Their length is 30–45 cm, and the mass of the productive part of one plant is over 1 kg. Stems can be pickled, stewed, or used as a base for caviar, adding variety to culinary recipes.

The variety is characterized by good drought- and cold-hardiness, allowing it to be grown both in open ground (sowing in early May at a depth of 2.5–4 cm) and in a greenhouse. Multiple cuts are possible without yield loss, and the total productivity of leaves and stems reaches 6–7 kg/m². In winter, plant roots can be used for forcing greens on a windowsill, making «Bride» a universal choice for both gardeners and lovers of home cooking.
