MORNING SONG

Sweet corn variety "Morning Song" is an early-maturing hybrid of domestic selection, characterized by stable yield and early ripening. The period from germination to technical maturity is 70-74 days. Plants reach a height of 140-150 cm, and cobs have a cylindrical shape about 17 cm long with 12-14 rows of grains. The cob weight varies from 196 to 300 g, while grains contain an increased amount of sugars and starch, making them especially tasty and tender. This variety is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning and boiling. Seeds are recommended to be sown from March to May at a depth of about 5 cm when the soil has warmed to 10-12°C. The distance between plants should be approximately 45 cm. To increase yield, it is useful to apply superphosphate at sowing and to fertilize with mineral fertilizers 1-2 times during the season. At the 3-4 leaf stage, crops are thinned to two plants per clump, and before tassel formation, hilling and removal of suckers from lower leaves is carried out.
