Agronomic Management of the KAMUK Hybrid

The KAMUK sweet corn hybrid, introduced by HM.CLAUSE in 2025, is characterized by vigorous vegetative growth and specific morphological traits that dictate its cultivation strategy. With its intense green foliage and strongly inclined leaf position, this hybrid is designed for high-efficiency photosynthesis, necessitating precise management of plant density and nutrient supply.

Sowing and Soil Requirements

KAMUK thrives in well-aerated, fertile soils. Given its structural profile—a long stem with a low ear placement—it is essential to maintain optimal spacing to prevent competition for light. A standard row spacing of 70 cm with 20–25 cm between plants is recommended to ensure each plant reaches its full potential. Sowing should commence once soil temperatures consistently exceed +12°C to ensure uniform emergence.

Crop Care and Development

• Irrigation: The period from the 8-leaf stage through silking is critical. As an early-to-mid flowering hybrid, KAMUK requires consistent moisture to ensure successful pollination and high-quality kernel development.
• Fertilization: The hybrid shows a strong response to split nitrogen applications. The first application should occur at the 3–5 leaf stage, with a second application before canopy closure to support the development of the primary ear.
• Structural Integrity: The hybrid exhibits low stem zigzagging and moderate aerial root development, providing good resistance to lodging. However, monitoring for pests during the silking stage is advised to protect the dense, well-formed tassels.
