Wild cabbage CAPITOL F1

Stability and Quality: Growing Capitol F1

When it comes to growing Peking cabbage, the key concern for any farmer is not just the ripening speed, but the post-harvest shelf life. The Czech hybrid Capitol F1 from Moravoseed is designed for those who aim to not only harvest a crop but to store it through the winter. Within a 40–50 day vegetation period, the plant develops a dense, round head weighing 1.0–2.0 kg, known for its high uniformity in storage.

Field Performance

This hybrid is a pleasure to manage. Thanks to its strong genetic resistance, Capitol F1 stands firm against Alternaria and various types of rot. This reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is essential for maintaining the produce's marketability. In practice, the hybrid is forgiving of minor agronomic slips, maintaining its quality even during autumn temperature fluctuations.

Storage and Processing

The main strength of this variety is its storability. A 6–8 month storage window for Peking cabbage is quite impressive. The heads retain their structure well, keeping their succulence and density, making them suitable for both the fresh market and processing. Logistics are equally straightforward, as the dense heads are resistant to mechanical damage during loading and packaging.

• Vegetation period: 40–50 days (after transplanting).
• Head weight: 1.0 to 2.0 kg.
• Usage: Fresh market and long-term storage.
• Key advantage: High resistance to rot and fungal diseases.

If you are looking for a variety that minimizes the risk of post-harvest losses, Capitol F1 from Moravoseed is a reliable choice for your farm.
