Maize Candle F1

Why «Candle F1» is the standard for the fresh market

When you step into the field with «Candle F1», you immediately realize this is professional-grade breeding. Working with this super-sweet hybrid from Seminis Vegetable Seeds, the main goal is to stick to the technology to get that perfect commercial ear of corn that customers line up for. A maturity period of 70-75 days allows for precise scheduling of supply chains.

Field practice: what an agronomist needs to know

The optimal seeding density is 60,000–65,000 plants per hectare. At this density, the plants, which reach 170-180 cm in height, feel comfortable, don't shade each other, and use nutrients efficiently. It is important to remember that this is an SH2 type (super-sweet), meaning the plant is demanding in terms of water supply during flowering and grain filling. When following proper agricultural practices, the hybrid produces an excellent ear 18-20 cm long.

Stability and marketability

What is the advantage of «Candle F1» as a business tool? First and foremost, it's the uniformity. Lodging resistance and uniform ripening save time during harvesting — you walk down the row and pick quality ears without wasting time on underdeveloped ones.

Working with Seminis genetics always yields predictable results. It may not be the cheapest seed material, but the investment pays off through a high percentage of premium-grade output. If your strategy focuses on quality rather than volume at any cost, this hybrid will justify every cent spent.
